Aqueous miscible organic solvent treated NiTi layered double hydroxide De-NOx photocatalysts

New efficient photocatalysts are required to remediate polluted urban atmospheres. We prepared a series of highly dispersed aqueous miscible organic (AMO) solvent treated NiTi layered double hydroxide (NixTi-AMO-LDHs (x = 2,3)) and studied their performance in the photocatalytic abatement NOx gases. These can be by simple scalable coprecipitation method at room temperature. NixTi-AMO-LDHs 2,3) have been with specific N2 BET surface areas pore volumes up 492 m2g?1 1.37 cm3 g?1 respectively. Under sunlight simulation, De-NOx conventional LDH P25 (TiO2) benchmarks were surpassed 40% 17% respectively NixTi-AMO-LDHs. The photocatalyst also exhibited outstanding reusability unusually low release toxic NO2. selectivity for process was investigated situ DRIFT measurements, high area volume observed play significant role on adsorption NO2 N2O4 intermediates. 2D character AMO-LDHs contributed an enhancement production radical species under illumination reduction charge carrier recombination.
